Welcome to Vintage Kitchen, a collaboration between 2 friends who met in elementary school and somehow managed to remain on speaking terms for the following 2 decades. The aim of this blog is to take old recipes and modernize them. Take out the boiled pig's feet and put in pectin or powdered gelatin instead; cut back on the lard and shortening in favor of butter. Some recipes might be old family favorites that we want to change up a bit. Others could be from a random collection of clippings from decades old newspapers, or something from a 1930's cookbook that piqued our interest. Whatever our source of inspiration, we hope you'll enjoy what we dig up and cook along with us.
